A December Giveaway!
Sag season has arrived, and so has Christmas.
I say it like those two things are totally related, they are not. Hahaha. But I’ve been feeling it lately—that chill in the air (imagined, obviously, this is a tropical country, I am likely feeling a low pressure area), the daily desire to drink my weight in Starbucks Iced Peppermint Mocha (four pumps peppermint, one pump mocha, no whip, please) and play my Christmas playlist until my Spotify asks me if I’m okay.
IT’S THE HOLIDAY SEASON, OFFICIALLY!
At least for me it is. My holidays always start December 1, because we celebrate my Ate’s birthday on the cusp of the Sag/Scorpio season (my earth sign butt is shaking), my Dad’s birthday on Bonifacio Day (another tough dude, just like my Dad) and my parents wedding anniversary on the end of November, so there’s really no better time to start celebrating than December 1!
The giveaway
Okay, okay, I guess this is the real reason why you opened this little blog post. I am giving away two print copies of Sweet on You + a scented candle to two people that can tell me:
what Christmas thing are you looking forward to this year?
I know this year has been a shitstorm to say the least, but at least let’s all have one day in the year where things can be okay, and we can be with the ones we love. :)
So leave your answer in the comments! Giveaway is open to PH residents only, and I shall be picking a winner on December 19th!
The Christmas Playlist
I’ve been compiling my favorite Christmas music for years! There’s not a lot of variety in the English ones, but the Filipino ones just hit different, especially the Bukas Palad ones because deep inside me (not so deep inside me) is a religious Tita just wishing to come out already. Feel free to listen to it and feel the vibes with me!
Also, all the review copies!
One day our landline rang (ikr, shudder) and it was a guy at our village gate telling us that there was a UPS dude with boxes.
And I just had a feeling. It was a teeny, tiny feeling that maybe it was that thing? But nah, it wouldn’t be. Would it?
Gijo came home with two boxes. Yes, it was. 96 books, one for each thousand words, maybe (maybe not) of Sweet on You. It’s always surreal to see your name on a book, and it didn’t change this time. Good to know some things about this incredibly surreal experience have felt familiar at least.
