April Feels Day 2024: A Mini Diary
I always say I should take more photos at these events. I even brought a camera this time! But no. HAHA. I literally only have seven photos, and none of them particularly different from all the other photos from an April Feels Day. But still!
I wasn’t able to attend last year’s event (even if it was held at Magdamag huhu), so I was happy that we had all camped upstairs for this one. I have always enjoyed seeing how the community has grown and change since I joined it (almost ten years ago now, wow) and even more happy that it’s happening kind of sort of in my backyard.
Sometimes I think about how the community has changed over the years. I remember going to DLSU (for the first time I think!) in 2015 with a maleta full of books and a sibling (lol) volunteering to be tindera for a table. I think about how the books themselves look different now, how some of us have literally re-written things we wrote before because we got better at it. I think about all the Romanceclass books I’ve read since That Kind of Guy by Mina V. Esguerra. I think about how truly rewarding it is to enjoy the work of other people and happily say it out loud! Walang ka hirap hirap.
And it’s been fun to watch, and be a part of, in all the ways and shapes the community has changed.
I will be better at photos next time, but it’s always a pleasure to have people who just get it.
