Review: Tempting Victoria (Breathe Rockstar Romance 2) by Mina Esguerra
Just a few hours ago, two very good actors read an excerpt of this book out loud as Nathan and Victoria. I have to admit, I was blushing right after with all the feelings. Just in time for it's shiny new Flirt Publications release (yesterday!!), here's my review of Tempting Victoria, book two of the Breathe Rockstar Romance Series!
Victoria Bennett is in control and in charge all day every day, but sometimes she needs help. One of those times is when she needs to organize a romantic proposal weekend for her client, and the only person available to help her is the notorious heartbreaker Nathan Grant.
Victoria knows she shouldn’t fall for guys like Nathan, but that hasn’t prevented her from lusting after him all these years. It’s just one weekend on the beach, away from everyone they know, alone with the guy who could cause her perfectly coordinated world to crumble. Shouldn’t be a problem, right?
Review
I read the first book of this series Playing Autumn and reviewed it when it was first released as an indie book. Looking at my review again, I realize that I was gushing more about the New Adult feels than the romance, which says a lot about me. Victoria featured prominently in Playing Autumn, and finally we see a bit more of her backstory!
But Tempting Victoria had all the elements of a fun, no frills beach read--an exotic location, just the right amount of sexual tension, actual sex, and a grand gesture in the end (I may or may not be talking about the proposal Victoria's organizing!). I am a huge fan of bickering couples falling in love, and this one hit all the right notes (ooh, music pun!). Victoria had such a strong idea of who Nathan was and who he should be, that when he broke himself down to her, she found herself pleasantly surprised by the result.
I love that they have zero expectations of each other. Victoria would never easily believe in happily ever after forever, but the ending opened up that possibility for them both because they gave so much of themselves to the other.
It's a light and fun beach read that's begging to be turned into an audio book (wink wink, Mina!) I highly recommend it to anyone who's looking for something light and fun to bring to the beach. Just in case you feel like living like fiction. ;)

I received this book in advance. That does not affect my review at all. Is that what you say when you get an ARC?
